Today I wanted to share a very cool event that’s special to me and that’s happening soon:
The Sketchbook Revival Challenge 2026.
It’s taking place between Saturday, April 11 – Monday, April 21st, 2026, and I’m really looking forward to being part of it again!
I met a lot of you during the past incarnations of Sketchbook Revival, and what stands out for me is the warm and welcoming atmosphere of this event, plus the amazing variety of creative sessions and ideas. Sometimes you just need a little nudge to make your art fun again, and Sketchbook Revival is all about that.
- This year, we’ll have 30+ hands-on sessions covering everything from graphite to gouache, lettering to landscapes (this is my topic, yay!). There’s a huge range of styles and techniques on offer, so there really is something for everyone to get those creative gears turning again.
- My session will be about creating a simple but luminous mini landscape. I’ve really focused here on helping you feel more comfortable with exploring light and mixing in your landscape sketches, so I hope you’ll join me!
Bonus for You: As a little extra something for those who are interested, I’ve created a free guide on color mixing guide for luminous landscapes. It covers simple color mixing techniques for creating luminous watercolor sketches, plus my favorite color combinations, and lots of examples that will inspire you to paint unique, atmospheric scenes.

You can go through the challenge at your own pace, watch as much or as little as you like, experiment with whatever materials you have on hand, and just enjoy the process. It’s about finding your own creative rhythm.
