Free sketching event: a new Sketchbook Revival adventure!

Today I have something cool to share with you:

A creative online event with free gifts, lots of inspiration and many tips and ideas for sketching! Sketchbook Revival is back, and this time it’s:

The SKETCHBOOK REVIVAL BINGE FEST 2025!

(Yes they actually chose that name.)

Friends, this is going to be a promotional text for a free event I’m part of. We’ll go back to our regular sketching blog posts afterwards. :-)

However – I’m actually really excited about this event because I met a lot of you through my Sketchbook Revival workshop in 2019. That’s been quite a while!

This year Sketchbook Revival will be very special, because it revisits 5 years of online workshops. If you don’t need to know more and just want to sign up to this free event, do that here:

Register here

What will you get:

  • FREE access to over 130 workshop sessions created from 2018-2022.
  • That’s 5 years of Sketchbook Revival Workshop content, featuring over 100 accomplished artists.
  • The workshop sessions will be available online for 2 weeks.

What are the workshop sessions about?

  • There’s something here for everyone: different art styles, teachers, new ideas + techniques for sketching, playful experimentation, and lots of creative discovery: from watercolor, ink, colored pencil to bookbinding, stamping, collage, mixed media, landscapes, florals, abstracts…
  • Each topic will be presented in hands-on workshop sessions with a different instructor, and you can choose to sketch along, or create something that’s inspired by the session.
  • My own session walks through the simple process of how to draw a bird.

If you’ve joined the workshop before, this is your chance to see how far on your creative journey you’ve come, or revisit favorite sessions, catch up on what you missed, or try something new and different.

If you don’t know Sketchbook Revival yet, I’d say this is a great way to see what it’s all about, as you’ll have 5 years of workshop content to choose from!

What are the dates?

Workshop starts: Tuesday, May 27th, 2025

Workshop ends: Monday, June 9th, 2025

But you’ll get some creative inspiration right after you sign up.

I’m excited about this cool sketching event and hope you are too!

Julia

P.S. If this sounds a bit much (to be honest I’m slightly overwhelmed), you don’t have to watch all sessions, you can definitely pick and choose. Just sign up and see what interest you. I will do this, too. :-)

P.P.S. As always with these kind of free online events that are offered for a limited time, there will be an option to throw money at those who organize and are part of the workshops (our lovely host Karen Abend and all of us artists). If you know you want to dive into all of these sessions, but don’t have the time right now, you get the option to buy a VIP Pass that will give you access to watch the content after the two weeks are over. You’ll get all the details for this option (including bonuses) after you register.

  1. What fun! Looking forward to your lesson re drawing a bird. Our sweet bobolinks are just now returning to Maine, so this is an ideal opportunity to have a first try. Thank you for the heads up and taking the time to offer a lesson. -karen.
