I recently had the pleasure to talk with Bethan Burton on the Journaling with Nature podcast.
We talked about my background, how I rediscovered sketching and found nature journaling, how I came to love and sketch birds, what it’s like to live in (and paint) the fairy tale landscapes of the Brothers Grimm, quitting social media, and much more. It was a lovely conversation, and if it makes you feel like you’re listening to a chat among friends – then that’s because it was!
I had a great time, and I hope you’ll enjoy the episode.
I’d like to highly recommend the entire podcast. Bethan has a natural talent for interviewing people, and that shines through in every conversation with her interesting guests. If you’re interested in nature or sketching or anything in between, make sure to give it a try.

I really enjoyed this podcast episode, Julia! I’m the living proof that you don’t need to be on social media, because I discovered your blog this summer through youtube and I love that everything is here, all in one place.
Thank you for being here Alice!!
Such a pleasure to listen to you being interviewed by Bethan. Have been so inspired by the podcasts that I have started our own small nature journaling group.
Oh that’s wonderful Sandra!
