I’m happy to announce that I’ll be part of an inspiring online workshop series coming up later this month.
The event is called Sketchbook Revival (hosted by the wonderful Karen Abend), it’ll be running between April 22 through May 4 2019, and the best part about it is that it’s FREE!
The sessions will be led by over 20 talented artists (illustrators, fine artists, art journalers, designers, expressive artists, etc.) from around the world, including me. In each session you will get a prompt for creating art inside your sketchbook and learn a new technique for sketchbooking. There will also be a private group for you to share your sketchbook work – be it in watercolor, pencil, acrylics, collage, ink, charcoal or marker.
In my session we’re going to take a look at drawing birds, and I will share a simple step-by-step technique for drawing birds in pencil and watercolor, and share my favorite tips along the way.
It was a lot of fun filming the session together with Karen while she was drawing along with me, so I hope you will join in, too!
Click here to join! I love that this workshop is so accessible to everyone around the world: You don’t need to travel anywhere or book any tickets. You can fit the workshop into your daily life, enjoy the sessions from home, and the best part: become part of the wonderful international art community. And all of it is completely free!
I’m really looking forward to seeing all the sessions and getting a glimpse into how the other artists work and what their sketchbooks look like. I love the different ways in which people approach their sketchbook (there’s such a broad range!), and I believe there will be lots of inspiration, valuable knowledge and a wonderful sense of community inside the workshops! I will definitely watch, sketch along and take notes, and I hope you will join me too!

I tried to join the free sketchbook classes, but was asked for a password.
How do I get a password?

Hi Sylvia, the event was last year, I don’t think you can still access the videos.
