These essential strokes are a great way to get a feel for the mechanics of the brush pen before you start writing letters, and also great to come back to at any stage of your practice.

To achieve the distinct look that brush lettering has, it’s important to keep your strokes in rhythm, and at a consistent height and weight. This exercise is the first step to that goal and will help you write well-formed letters later.
